The Spittelberg Christmas Market meets all the criteria for the title of Eco-Event, awarded by the City of Vienna to companies/events that strive to have a particularly good ecological footprint. More details in the coming weeks. This rating is our temporary highlight after years of being named the most popular Viennese Christmas market by Falstaff from 2017 to 2022 and number 1 in Europe and number 3 in the world by the international travel platform Skyscanner.

And we’re going one better: together with the world’s best Vienna MA48, we’ve been working for years to ensure that the rubbish generated at the Spittelberg Christmas Market is disposed of in a manner appropriate to the species. For example, we have been using on-site waste compactors for years. Rigorous waste separation leads to less and less waste, and last year we saved about 80 (!) trips of the Ma48 truck fleet as a result. For the climate, the environment, for us and of course for you. There’s more. And it goes on.
